    General Job / Performance Information
  • Education and Experience
    • Must be able to disassemble & assemble complicated respiratory equipment.
    • One year related experience preferred.
  • Environmental / Working Conditions
    • Occupational exposure is of medium risk for blood borne pathogens.  May come in contact with hazardous chemicals & contaminated equipment.  Hours of duty in general are approximately eight hour days.
  • Interaction with Other Departments and Other Relationships
    • Good communication skills with medical staff, nursing, and ancillary departments to assure teamwork approach toward patient care.
  • Job Description
    • Responsible for processing all dirty respiratory equipment in accordance with hospital policy & Accreditation Organization  Requirements.
    • Perform preventative maintenance on designated equipment.
    • Work closely with biomed to keep other equipment up-to-date.
    • Also responsible for maintenance of respiratory care storage areas.
    • Maintains adequate inventory of equipment & supplies.

    • N/A
  • Physical Capabilities
    • Work is light to medium, requiring a minimum amount of walking & standing a great deal of the time. Frequent bending & lifting. May be required to life object weighing over fifty pounds.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Demands good hand-eye coordination.  Fine motor skills are essential to perform procedures & manage equipment.
