General Job / Performance Information
  • Education and Experience:
    • At least six months of experience in hospital inventory and/or ordering systems.
  • Environmental / Working Conditions:
    • This position is subject to inside environmental conditions - protection from weather condidtions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
  • Interaction with Other Departments and Other Relationships:
    • This position requires interactions and realtionships with all hospital departments.
  • Job Description:
  • Responsible for supplying stocked inventory items to all areas within the hospital
  • Maintaining appropriate supplies in all Pyxis cabinets within the hospital
  • Reviewing refill reports and replenishing each supply to pre-determined par levels within the Pyxis cabinets
  • Documenting any supply not available for replenishment and notifying the Central Stores Supervisor of such
  • Distributing needed supplies or equipment to other hospital personnel
  • Following all departmental policies and procedures regarding the distribution of supplies and equipment throughout the hospital
  • Keeping the department fully stocked and sanitary at all times
  • Assisting in a periodic Physical Inventory, daily cycle counts, forreconciling automated inventory counts against actual, monitoring inventory levels and adjusting par levels.

    • N/A
  • Physical Capabilities:
    • Physical demands of the position are moderate. The technician will be required to lift items up to 100 lbs., reach heights of 8 feet, as well as bend to the floor. The technician should be in reasonably good physical condition and available to spend long periods of time standing on a concrete surface. The technician must be able to endure 6+ hours of mobility, with rapid response.
