o Precerter experience required. o 1-2 years of college preferred. o Minimum of 2 years customer service o 1 – 2 years knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare experience o Excellent communication skills in spoken and written work, interpersonal, and conflict resolution. o Must be able to multi-task. o Computer experience (Personal Computer and Mainframe). o Insurance billing experience required. 1. Obtain insurance benefit and pre-certification information. 2. Work closely with doctor’s offices and clinical staff for a smooth pre-admit and day surgery process. 3. Register and admit Outpatient Surgery and Direct Admit patients. 4. Must be able to communicate in a professional manner with other hospital departments, especially the physician’s offices and insurance companies as well as registration staff, patients, and family members. 5. Must maintain a professional appearance and attitude with every interaction with patients, visitors, co-workers in other departments, physician offices, and insurance companies. 6. Must be willing to set an example. 7. Must be able to maintain a working relationship with doctor’s offices and the clinical staff of the hospital
