Registered Nurse -Oncology Medical Surgical 4 East
Shift – Schedule: 7P-7A
Departmental Description 
  •  4 East is a 32 bed unit providing specialized care for adult Medical Surgical and Oncology patients. The nurse on 4 East collaborates with other healthcare professionals to provide appropriate, effective and efficient health care based on evidenced based practices.  Nurses serve as an advocate for clients and their significant others to promote, maintain or restore health.  4 East Nurses serve as mentors and role models for colleagues and students and continually engage in ongoing professional development to enhance the profession. ONS Chemotherapy administration courses are available to all nurses who call 4 East home. Employee satisfaction scores in 2018 were in the 99th Percentile.
  • Must maintain a current CPR certification from American Heart Association
  • Provides professional nursing care to patients and provides supervision and guidance to the members of the nursing staff.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
  • Valid Texas RN License/Eligible Compact License
  • UMC Hospital Orientation
  • Unit specific orientation
  • Orientation length is individually based and will be determined by preceptor, employee, and clinical instructor
