PART I - General Job / Performance Information
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma. At least three years secretarial or closely related experience required. Experience with computer and knowledge of Microsoft Word is required. Ability to compose correspondence. Mathematical ability desirable.

  • This position is subject to inside environmental conditions. Protection from weather conditions, not necessarily from temperature changes.

  • This position interacts with all level of employees, including the public.
Job Description
  • The Administrative Assistant is responsible for overseeing daily operations in the Human Resources Department, interacting with all employees and the public. Must maintain a strong knowledge of hospital policies and procedures; preparing letters, memos and correspondence, scanning, data entry, auditing and performing other tasks assigned by the HR Director. NOTE: This job description/performance appraisal form does not describe all job responsibilities that may be assigned to this job. Job responsibilities may change from time to time.

Physical Capabilities
  • Hearing and visual acuity and clear speech patterns are necessary. This position is of light demand, occasionally exerting up to 10 pounds of force. Occasionally exerts a small amount of force to life, carry, push, pull and move objects. Hours may be occasionally irregular to accommodate department needs. Must be able to handle problems, interruptions and other stressful situations.
Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to handle all types of customers, especially the irate customer. Ability to understand and follow instructions, good organizational skills, knowledge of filing, general office procedures and data entry; ability to use office machines; knowledge of policies applicable to particular area of work; and excellent communication skills.
