  • Education and Experience
      • Complete thirty (30) or more credit hours from an accredited school of pharmacy.
  • Environmental / Working Conditions
      • Hours of duty may be irregular to accommodate departmental requirements.

      • Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with nursing staff, LIPs, and the general public.
  • Job Description
      • The inpatient pharmacist intern ensures that compliance with the hospital`s policies and procedures is consistent throughout the department. He/she is responsible for assisting the Director of Pharmacy or his/her designee in the maintenance of efficient and effective operations of the Pharmacy Department. He/she will assure timely and accurate execution of medication requirements of our patients in accordance with physicians` orders and be a resource person for physicians, medical students, nurses, and other staff members.
  • Required Licensures / Certifications / Registrations
      • Registration by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy as a pharmacist intern is required.
  • Physical Capabilities
      • Work is of medium demand; walking and standing a great deal of time.
      • May occasionally be asked to lift objects weighing fifty pounds.
      • Near visual acuity required.
  • Skills and Abilities
      • Good verbal communication skills.
      • A working knowledge of the hospital organization, a general knowledge of nursing and pharmacy theory, practice, and regulations/laws; and familiarity with individual department functions is required.
      • The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and  supervisors.
      • Will maintain professional, ethical, and effective working relationships with all employees.
