  • Education and Experience
    • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience in hospital receiving preferred, but not required. Computer experience is preferred

  • Job Description
    • The Receiving Clerk is responsible for the following: Receiving shipments on the hospital dock. Moving shipments into the Receiving area, using a pallet jack, 2-wheel cart, or 4-wheel flatbed cart. Assisting other Receiving Clerks in counting and recording shipments on the LAWSON Purchase Order with the actual items received. Inputting the quantities received into the LAWSON Materials Management System. Organizing shipments to make deliveries to departments as efficient as possible. Delivering all shipments, with the exception of office supplies and forms, to individual departments and obtaining the appropriate signatures and date from each department's personnel on the original DELIVERY TICKET. Collecting returns from the Purchasing Department and preparing these returns for shipment the same day, whenever possible. Ensuring that the dock is clear at the end of each business day (shipments, as well as empty pallets, must be moved inside, and trash must be disposed of), and that the dock doors are locked securely Locating all 4-wheel flatbed and 2-wheel carts and securing them with a chain and lock at the end of each business day. Assisting in any other areas of department operation as deemed necessary by the Supervisor of Central Stores/Receiving.

    • None required
  • Physical Capabilities
    • Visual and auditory acuity are required continuously. Sitting, walking, and standing for long periods of time are required. Bending, carrying and lifting up to 100 lbs.are required frequently.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • A willingness to learn the procedures observed on the LAWSON Materials Management System is required. Must be capable of typing at least 30 words per minute accurately Follow procedures for receiving shipments Perform routine daily tasks Delivery of large quantities of hospital special orders
