  • Education and Experience
    • High school diploma or G.E.D. and two years of college or completion of an accredited Food Service Program or related experience preferred. A minimum of one year of institutional food service experience required. A general knowledge of institutional food service practices. Demonstrated leadership and training abilities. The ability to maintain rapport and strong public relations image among a wide variety of employee and staff members.

    • Customers, employees, physicians, patients, and others. Able to interface with Texas Tech Health Science Center and University Medical Center staff at all levels.
  • Job Description
    • The Retail Coordinator supervises & coordinates activities of workers engaged in retail services to ensure an efficient & profitable food service operation. Assumes the responsibility for ensuring that the cafeteria operations are directed in a manner consistent with established policies and procedures, assist as directed with coordination of purchasing and cost control efforts and monitor all cash operations including the accurate preparation and documentation of reports. The Retail Coordinator Ddevelops and implements programs to effect appropriate supervision of public food services personnel and perform other job related duties as assigned.

  • Physical Capabilities
    • Be able to work quickly and efficiently for extended periods of time. The physical ability to stand long hours, walk short distances frequently, lift equipment and supplies and push food carts as required. Able to lift up to 40 pounds. Able to bend and stoop on a regular basis while working. Near visual capacity is required. Good verbal and written communication skills are essential.
