Job Description

  • Reporting to the Software Development Manager, IT Analytics, the Systems Analyst is responsible for performing activities related to designing, building, testing, implementing, training, evaluating, maintaining, upgrading, enhancing, and supporting the Cerner Clinical Information System and other clinical applications for an integrated electronic health record.
  • The ideal candidate will possess strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills along with the ability to work in a team environment and independently.
  • This individual must be able to maintain good relationships with providers, clinical staff, support staff and other members of the IT departments in order to elicit information necessary to optimize clinical work processes and keep systems performing at a high level. This includes an in depth knowledge of the applications in order to answer questions from users, trouble-shoot problems, and implement upgrades.
  • The Systems Analyst will possess excellent interpersonal skills, logical thinking, and project management skills. This individual is expected to deliver timely problem resolutions and provide solutions for user questions and requests for information. Comply with organizational standards of excellence.

Skills and abilities

  • The ability to communicate with all types of clinicians (physicians, nurses, ancillary teams, etc.) to ensure that customer needs are understood and appropriate decisions are facilitated.
  • Knowledge of best practices guidelines in a variety of clinical settings related to documentation, practices and care delivery protocols.
  • Have experience with monitoring and maintaining a production computer system, along with PC skills and an understanding of commonly used software packages and emulation packages. Possess an understanding of basic networking and PC communication protocols, along with excellent interpersonal, communication and strong analytical skills.
  • Javascript, SQL, database design, HTML, and HL7 experience are desired skills.
